What is Tumblon?

Tumblon is an interactive online service for parents that provides customized child development resources and helps preserve and share stories, photos and videos.

How does Tumblon help parents?

Parents need information and inspiration to love and support their children at each stage of development. We've partnered with respected pediatricians, child psychologists and authors to deliver customized information that is concise, accurate and helpful. We recommend great children's literature for each stage of development and highlight the stories of active parents to inspire parents to intentionally shape the character, competence and creativity of their children.

Where do you get your milestone information from?

All Tumblon milestones reflect the research of pediatricians and literacy experts to help parents understand their children's development. You can read more about our milestones data on the sources page.

Where did the name come from?

We chose Tumblon because kids love to tumble and play. We pronounce it "Tumble-on", but we won't get mad if you pronounce it differently.

How much does it cost?

Currently, Tumblon is completely free. After our public beta period, we may introduce a subscription level that provides additional features.

Do I need to start at the beginning? What if my child is already, say, 3 years old?

You can start any time. Simply create an account and add your child to your account profile. We'll tell you what skills your child is developing now and how you can support that development with appropriate books, toys and activities.

What happens when my child is older than 5?

You can add all of your children to tumblon, regardless of their ages. For children ages 6 and under we provide interactive developmental milestones. For older children, we provide an outstanding interactive age-appropriate literature list. And of course, you can still use tumblon to preserve and share all of your children's memories in stories, photos and videos.

What steps does Tumblon take to protect my family’s privacy and keep our information secure?

We take your family’s privacy and security seriously. You control the privacy of your information by choosing a privacy level for each piece of data you post: private (for you and your spouse only), friends and family (for people you've invited) or public (for anyone to see). We protect your security by presenting your information in the ways that you choose. For more information, read our privacy policy.
