By age 3, 75% of his speech should be clear

A Speech & Language milestone for the 2.5-3 years age range.

TIP: To help your child learn clear articulation, you can repeat words that he mispronounces so that he hears it correctly. For example, if he says, "I dwaw," you can say, "Yes, you draw very nicely." Be patient with his progress and keep any instruction relaxed. If your child has difficulty with drooling or very unclear speech at his third birthday, you should talk with your pediatrician.
